Question by AzeriBoy-McCain Palin ’08!!: How closely related are Slovak and Czech?
I have a Slovakian dictionary, and am learning Czech, I didn’t buy the two on purposes together. Would it be ok to use the dictionary for my Czech?

they are 6 degrees apart
I think you could use the Slovak dictionary, I guess it’s better than nothing… however, there are differences between Czech and Slovak. Some words are completely different:
e.g. brusle (Czech) – korčule (Slovak) – skates
