Question of Woolf : It’s cheaper to visit? ? Czech Rep or Poland? (Hotels, costs for food, shopping, museums, etc.) I live in Britain and you want an inexpensive three or four days holiday (outside the eurozone) to do. Best answer:

they will probably end up around the same, depending on where you live and what you do, but I know for a fact that the Czech Rep is much nicer

Both places are equally cheap i think. However the Czech rep is WAY more interesting and Beautiful then Poland.
I been both places several times, Poland a boring grey country, with a bunch of aggressive people so you have to watch your back all the time.
Czech rep is exiting, Beautiful and full of nice people.
Prague is getting rather expensive, but has a lot of cheap flights, the rest of the country is still not too bad.
Poland is about as expensive and about as beautiful.
And in both cases, English is not widely spoken, so it will be quite an adventure.
compare the cities, as you will have time for only one city.
Krakow vs Prague.
Both are beautiful and great cities. I’d say Krakow is a bit cheaper, but not by much.
If you get a condo in the right place, you can walk to the major attractions in both cities.
Krakow has the great huge market square with hundreds of great restaurants, great architecture, with Wawel hill with the Royal Palace and the Royal Cathedral within a short walk. A 1-2hr bus ride gets you to Oświęcim (Auschwitz) or to Wieliczka Salt Mine, great day trips, not to be missed.
Prague has the market square, charles bridge, and the castle hill with St Vitus Cathedral and the palace a short tram ride away, or a longish walk.
