Should i move to italy alone?

Question by bryan_ldu1: Should i move to italy alone?
I am going to study in czech next year but i want to go a little bit earlier to see hows it is like in italy, i have family who are willing to support me but i want to try and make it on my own as well. I speak italian and from what my relatives tell me knowing 3 or 4 languages like me(english, spanish, italian, and maybe czech if i learn it) is good if you want to work in a hotel or tourism business, i have references from fountaineblaeu a resort here in miami, i am hoping that is enough. can anybody tell me how it is over there now with the recession (especially norhter italy) do americans with work visas have a good chance at getting a job over there. If alal goes well the first two months, then after i am done with my czech semester i might stay in italy. is there anything i should be thinking about, university, mobility, etc.etc. please comment?

As an American, you’re only allowed to enter Italy
without a visa for (90) days as a tourist and you must have enough fund to support yourself if you wish to extend your visa ,and through your stay in Italy or any country of the European Union
You should know that you’re not allowed to work
without obtaining a work permit, other wise it’s illegal 4 foreign national to work in any country
of the European Union period.
Note:
The Italians are very kind & they might accommodate someone who’s willing to work during the winter season in the North especially on the Swiss, French the Austrian side.

🙂 ciao auguri!!!!!!

Right now, the job market here in northern Italy is very tight – companies are cutting budgets, not adding employees. People from the EU have an advantage for what jobs are available since they have the right to live and work within the boundaries of the EU. Hiring someone from outside the EU adds a big burden on the company to justify the position going to someone outside the EU and arranging all the governmental paperwork necessary to make it happen.
