How complected the Czech language for English speakers with a near-native fluency in German?

Question by : How complected the Czech language for English speakers with a near-native fluency in German How is the language complected? Is complected to learn the alphabet? How long it usually takes to become fluent? How hard is it to the Czech language to use in the Czech Republic and Slovakia? best answer:

Answer Monica
First, the spelling is ‘complicated’. Czech Republic is not a Germanic language like English or German, so it would depend on the learner I guess. Czech is a Slavic language, more akin to Russian, Polish, etc. I do not think the Czech language is very widespread outside these two countries, but because of similarities Polish speakers are able to understand what you say. There are no guarantees.

Czech and German are completely different languages. Grammar is different, spelling is different, vocabulary is different. So German won’t help you much with learning Czech.

The Alphabet is quite easy, have a look at this site with audio:

To speak fluent in Czech is not easy because of its grammar and pronunciation. I have found a site for you that could help you with being fluent in Czech:

You can use the Czech only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The time when Poles or Russians could understand Czechs well is gone…
