Question by : What’s the difference between the Czech and Slovak languages?
Most of my blood is Czechoslovakian, so my Grandma speaks Slovak fluently. One time I asked her if she could teach me how to speak simple phrases in Czech, but then she corrected me and said that the language was Slovak, so I assume that this means that my family was from the Slovakian side of the country. So I’m just wondering…if I were to go to the Czech Republic and start speaking Slovak to a native, would they be able to understand what I mean? How similar are the two languages?
